Read the comments from the 15 year old in the thread entitled "This is Awful"
There is more than enough shame to go around here.
We have lots of 'minors' here that are more mature than the adults twice their age. It's called a freedom of speech, and yes, Russ can enforce any rules against free speech on his own site, but it shouldn't be a problem if he also chooses not to. The sooner children learn that nobody is going to be there to take care of them their whole lives, and they need to watch what they hear, read, and engage in, the better. The site is for ages 13+. By 13, you should begin learning independence. Minors have the knowledge and right to avoid topics they aren't interested in, and engage in ones they are.
You want a forum for the kids?

Originally posted by Red NightDoes it state in the TOS of this web site that discussing sexually related topics is not allowed? No? Then perhaps it is up to the parent to decide, whether or not that the site is what they deem appropriate material for their children read. It should NOT be up to the users of the site to change their behaviour, when it is clear in the rules that they are allowed to discuss these matters.
Do you believe it is inappropriate for adults to carry on sexually explict conversations on a public forum when minors are present?
Yes or No?
Let's discuss the term 'ghetto princess'. No, it's not something little girls who listen to rap music claim to be. It's a term John Singleton used to describe the little girls who's parents sheltered them from boys and men of the neighborhood. When these little girls turned 12 or 13 years old, they'd venture off by themselves to public school, where they had absolutely zero social skills, and didn't know how to say no when the boys pressured them for sex. The result? Pregnancy. The average age for a mother in that neighborhood was 13 years old. 13 years old. A 7th grader. Their bodies were barely developing at this point, yet they'd end up pregnant because the 20+ year old men would sweet talk them, and the girls wouldn't know how to respond. This is the same thing you're trying to teach here, Red Night.
Or maybe it's just me that will one day teach his children about sex and to have it when THEY are ready, not when I'm ready for them to have sex. Am I saying I will tell my children to have sex young? No. I'll only tell them to prepare themselves for it, and don't let anyone but yourself decide when you have it. Sheltering them from sex will only either make them want to have sex (teenage rebellion) or make them so scared of sex that they turn into the old geezer down the street that has 400 cats and doesn't leave the house except to scream profanities and spray kids with the water hose.
Give it a rest.
