That wouldn't necessarily make Socrates a wife-beater. More likely it was her socking him.

How about a dream sequence with an assembly of Xanthippes slapping Socrates upside the head?
And to make it even more poignant, have Socrates wear a clown suit and a George Bush mask.
I like this a lot. Just a couple of questions:

What is Xanthippe wearing?
What is she slapping Socrates upside the head with?

That was exactly the joke if you read uzeless' post. He writes about ant-socratists with wife-beater T-shirts...
So they go as far as beating their wife to state how anti-socratic they are since he was beatne by his...

The joke was clear, but I can't visualize a wife-beater shirt. A shirt with WIFE BEATER on it doesn't work for me.

Amend the Xanthippe wardrobe: Knowing how much Socrates hates puns, she wears one green sock.

Edit the contratenor song: "Lady of Pain" instead of "Lady of Spain."

Also, a factoid for the printed program: One of Xanthippe's descendants is/was XanthosNZ, erstwhile RHP antagonist.
