Shepherd's Pie

Shepherd's Pie

General

Easy right?
Minced lamb with leeks, mint and perhaps
peas topped with chunky mash and grilled.

Today I was served a concoction of onion &
beef mince topped with watery mashed potato
and adorned by a slither of burnt tomato!

What is the world coming to?

We had a "cottage" in the Laurentian Mountains, north of Montreal, and the only pie we ate there was Ukrainian Blueberry Pie and it always got "glowing" reviews.

No excuse for the watery mash potatoes though. I like a Cumberland pie but then I’d eat cheese with cheese.

Yep. A dilapidated cottage.
There was no grated cheese topping.
You can't have a cottage without a thatch roof!

Now I do a version of minced beef topped with sliced potato. I turn the potato over half way then let it brown slightly, delicious.

Sounds good, I’ll probably put some cheese on them potatoes for last 10 minutes 🧀

Just went to the food section of my pad’s emojis, this my favourite 🍺 but not on a school night 😇

I think they wrapped it well in a baggie, placed it in a box and sent it "priority post" 😲
