A delicious, gratifying meal or snack does not necessarily have to be a complicates, überfancy, organic, orgasmic grastronomic experience, worthy of the cover of Jamie Oliver's Digest (if there's such a thing).

For example, I am enjoying as we speak a delicious loaf of rye bread, lightly toasted, with peanut butter and strawberry jam.

Simply an astonishing delight!

Nice article!

"...a no-nonsense nibble"

I like that. It says a lot about this thread's subject: Concrete and straightforward.

That's how I like my summer snacks!

Bloody freaks, where is the suffering in any of that?
How could you possibly be enjoying that when nothing suffered for your scoffing pleasure?

(Cue the freak-a-bit to say something shocking about mutilating some poor beast from the animal kingdom)

Edit: I like tea and cake (with a dash of meths on a cold winters morning in my tea)

I part light rum
1 part dark rum
1 part orange rum
a dash of lime
teaspoon of sugar
pineapple juice to taste.

Put ingredients in large enough container (I recommend a bucket). Add as much ice as will fit in container after all the other ingredients.

Best served in the company of a mixed circle of friends.

I have one called the banana surprise.
You need the following.
1 Banana (2 if greedy)
2 Tablespoons Sugar
1 Bowlful of Milk
1 Bowl

Instructions:
1 Mash the banana(s) up with a fork, or other suitable mashing impliment
2 Add the sugar and stir until fully mixed
3 Add the milk and stir until uniform distribution achieved
4 Eat using a spoon

The best thing about this recipie is that you can serve it to any age group from 0 - dead (not literally dead, but it would make a delicious final meal)

Wow, you guys are far more sophisticated than old peasant me 🙂

Here's another one I trully enjoy:

Corn on a stick, right out of the boiling water, and covered with delicious, real, mouth-watering, deep yellow butter. And some salt.

How dellllllllllllllllllicious that is, uh!

Hey, I do the banana thing also, but with strawberries! Nice!

(bananas contain too much potasium and my body doesn't react very well to it)

Ohh, that is a bit much. Are you sure that is a safe idea?

Gee, I don't know. Black pepper? Is it safe?

I'll think about it.
