Not so much slow, but I'm finding that my browser never actually finishes loading each page. Almost like some sort of protocol acknowledgement is missing, or an insignificant part of each page is missing.

I have the same experience. But I am running the php5 beta of RHP, thought that was due to the beta server or something. Each time an element of the page cannot load, the server pops up the inlog box. This is going on for some days now. How long have you experienced this bother? Only today or before too?
