A quick glance online turns up no shortage of laptops selling for under $100. Like, what you pay for two months of your current phone data plan. There's a Chromebook with an 11.6-inch screen selling for $46.99 at Walmart right now.

Go! Buy!

Come on now... People surfing the net on their phones have precious little to do with my experience of websites on my computer. One does not directly influence the other.
Allow me my petty little prejudices. 😉

Anyway, my wife navigates cyberspace with a phone most of the time, so I can't judge too harshly...

I agree! Why fixit if it Aint broken. It doesn’t work at all on my older iPad now. It’s slower. Stuff isn’t where it used to be. The time of day works better for me than counting hours and minutes. The colours have changed! I do not see any improvement to justify all the needless changes.

I'd love the last post to show up first, not to have to click on anything to bring it to the last post posted.. I understand what you are saying of course, it is a step we didn't have to take before and was far more convenient.

Just like we did before, if you click on "Last Post", you will go to the last page, where the last post is. Simples.

Why do you click on the name of the thread, then complain when it takes you to the first post, just like it always has?

Yes, we did!

If you opened a thread by clicking "Last Post" you went to the last page.

You are choosing to open the thread at the first page by clicking the title of the thread, just like always.

Start opening threads by clicking "Last post", just like always, and you'll go to the last page, just like always.

I don't recall having to click on anything just the General forum the thread I wanted to go in and the last post would pop up first. Now I have the first popping up even if there are several pages.

It has always been this way.

The thread title for first post in a thread.

The last post time/date to view last post in a thread.

Is this under the 'micro' or 'compact' or both?

Perhaps I did it automatically without thinking about it.

I'm afraid web design and web programming is my literal day job, and you are more wrong than you could possibly fathom.

Oh, you're SO right, because the website on my computer looks exactly like on my phone.

🙄

Automatic naysaying certain people is not a good look.

Automatic... did you miss where I mentioned that I make my living off this? Or did you just assume?

Oh, by the way... the "Post" button below this post, as I am typing it, is styled in a way that is only ever reasonable on a phone. In my browser, it looks ridiculous. Tell me again how much I'm "gaslighting" you.

Hint: No, it doesn't.
