That's good, because you're clearly talking BS.
Are you rejecting the fact that people under 25 can have strokes due to their smoking habit?
It's true that the link between smoking and stroke has received little public attention compared with heart disease and cancer and you may think it affects very few people or older people.
some info:

Dozens? In one hospital? Guessing that there are approx 3000 hospitals in the UK and that 'dozens' indicates at least 24, that would mean approx 72000 smoking induced strokes in 20/25 year olds at any one time in the UK. Since the article you quoted suggests there are only 10000 a year and merely 30 a day across the UK and that they are of varying ages, it seems your original statement was in fact BS.
Put that in your pipe and smoke it.
Originally posted by StarrmanAlso, the article says nothing about how many of those 30 a day suffered a stroke that was caused by smoking.

The hospital I was referring to has a specialist stroke unit where patients are treated and attend a rehabilitation programme at the hospital.
When I visited the hospital, I was shocked at the number of young people (some were just 20) there; the stroke had left them without the powers of movement and speech. And yes, there were at least 30 patients in their 20s.
Sorry I don't have photographic evidence..
Originally posted by rook n rollAre you saying every person in there was suffering a stroke caused by smoking? Strokes do that, big deal. Your original post was about quantity, the fact that strokes do damage is neither here nor there.

you're right, cancer's not funny.
when like me you've visited your mother in extensive care after she suffered a stroke and seen in that same hospital dozens of 20/25 year-olds who've also had strokes because of smoking and are now wheelchair-bound or have lost some if not all of their mental capacities...
These people are also kept alive on extensive care by machines that cost the NHS some £100 000 to run...
Sorry that people in the forum are so insensitive and give you a hard time.
