Read 'em all. I'm not sure "entertaining" is the word I'd use. Not that"entertaining" is in any way wrong: entertaining they are, its just that they are somewhat more high-brow than entertaining would suggest. An entertaining comic tends to involve POW!, BAM! and spandex...

Entertaining is a relative term.

For instance: I found "Fargo" entertaining but I found "Collateral Damage" ridiculous.

I always read comic books for their storylines and not for the pretty pictures or gory action frames. Although I do see your point...

Being an artist I come at it from the exact opposite direction. When I buy a comic book (which isn't too often anymore) I do so strictly for the artwork. Many times I won't even read them until much later.

So who is your favourite all-time comic book artist? I hope you name someone who is pre-1993 or so because then I may have a chance of knowing him!

They're an excellent series ( the Sandman Series).

I consider them Graphic Novels and they're best read in the collections you can get. Neil Gaiman is a real talent.

I have a bunch of favorite comic artists. Stan Lee, of course, is in my list. He's like the GodFather of comics. Frank Miller, his Daredevil stuff is my favorite Daredevil storyline. I like the independents too - Love and Rockets, when it was a regularly produced series, Los Bros Hernandez, was amazing.

Comics in general have come a long way. X-Men, Spidey, plus the independents.

I agree! I can read magazines with comics in them, and the Sunday comics, but I hate everything else!

Well, I have a lot of female friends who say definitely that comics are not just a "boy thing".

I think its all how you look at them. Many comics today are done very well. Excellent storytelling and brilliant art work. I'm a Marvel fan myself and prefer their books to say, DC.

There are comics aimed specifically at a more mature audience (DC comics has a whole line of books under the Vertigo name). Sandman being one. The Crow, being another. Love and Rockets and Preacher, more still.

The classic (gold and silver age) comics are what most people think about - lots of "bash" "boom" "bang" which is well and good, lots of fun, but those aren't the only kind of books out there.

X-Men has some of the best storylines around. Extinction Agenda and the DarkPhoenix Saga are two extremely well written archs.

Oh, and don't get me started on how fun it is to collect comics (yes, I'm a collector as well as a reader) - I guess its just another geek thing I like to do.

A boy thing my butt...

My favourite comics right now are the Alien vs Predator vs Terminator, a four part miniseries from Dark Horse. Came out about five years ago; found out about them last week.

Great artwork, and great storylines. Takes place after Alien Resurrection.

You are a boy aren't you? And you like comics? This proves that it is a boy thing (and maybe some very rare females).
