@mchill saidsenior editor = lizard
...a Senior Editor, Editor at Large, Editor in Chief, and Managing Editor? Do they have different duties? Are they different titles for the same job? Does one title imply an ownership stake in the company?
editor at large = small lizard
editor in chief = lizard with a hat
managing editor = frog
@mchill saidYes to different duties; no to different titles; none of those titles implies an ownership stake (but in some cases the Editor in Chief might also be the owner or share ownership -- more likely with indie publications and small presses).

Editor in Chief would be the topmost of those positions, but the rest would depend on the organization chart and job descriptions for the particular publication or publishing house.
