And San Marino which are proving a stiff test for germany.
I suppose that's what you get for a recent run of disasterous form. We were at USA 94... then missed 96, 98, 2000, we were at Japan and Korea 2004; then missed 2006 and 2008... ok, we were a tad unlucky at times, but really, that speaks volumes. And this time looks like it's slipped away even before beginning.
Still, must keep the faith.

Fifa wanted to spare you the humiliation of losing to andorra and macedonia.

At least if we did happen to beat Andorra and Macedonia, we would have some shame and maybe even a smidgen of dignity, and would resist what for some has seemingly been an irresistable temptation to heap praise upon ourselves, betraying a rather blatant massive inferiority complex in the national psyche.

Bloody hell.
Old Doyler is a bit of a legend in the making, though, if you ask me.
Seriously, though. Bloody tough group.
I only saw the highlights of the game but I don't think England played too badly. Macedoia played some bloody good football! When they had the ball they looked very dangerous and i thought England defended well. England have a new side (well, sort of...), under a new manager with lots of young up and coming players. They haven't conceeded a goal in ages, what more can you ask of them? I think there is room for a lot of improvement, don't get me wrong, but at least they're winning! I couldn't give two poops how they qualify, as long as they bloody qualify!!
