It appears with the gunmen of late, both in Colorado and in Pennsylvania, that in general morals, and knowing what is right and wrong has gone out the window. Gunmen molesting young girls, then shooting the,m is reprehensible to me. The slaughter of Amish girls, I mean they are Amish for Christ's sake. What could they have done to deserve this? Mankind in general is starting to suck major ass. (IMHO)

Originally posted by Ice ColdI suspect he chose an Amish school precisely because they are against violence so would not have protections like outer world schools.

Originally posted by Ice ColdThe CBS Evening News has a segment called "freeSpeech" in which they invite a person to comment on a particular issue that they have an interest in. The person they picked last night was the father of a kid that was killed at Columbine. His take on the recent shootings focused on how this is what happens when God is taken out of the public schools system. It was really sad to see this take on it. If he was correct in his assessment, then how is it that the Amish suffered?

Originally posted by Ice ColdLet me explain why. I felt that to offer a political commentary right after this shooting was insensitive. He made the point that these kinds of bad things happen when God is taken out of the schools. How would one of these Amish parents feel about hearing that kind of thinking?
I'm sorry, I'll stuff a sock in my pie hole, then.
I felt that this parent missed an opportunity to talk about how this very public kind of tragedy effected him on a personal level for the rest of his life.
Originally posted by kirksey957Very true, perhaps the Columbine parent is still very dazed by everything. I doubt he meant to sound that way, but I bet the Amish are put off by his comments.
