Russ, perhaps you should consider hiring bill. Within a month you'd be sunning yourself on the shores of whatever coast you're partial to, with gorgeous women rubbing lotion on your back while simultaneously distracting your wife with shoe shopping excursions.

I dont want to spoil this party boys. But all over the world there are millions of people starving. I am not a pawn star because I cant afford it. And I cant afford it because I donate *every* day from 3 to 5 dolars to people that hasnt the means to sustain their families. 5 bucks in my country (Argentina) is the equivalent of the food that a typical family can consume in a week. Think on it guys.
Think on it.

After all,we are part of nature. And nature is about survival of the fittest(or smartest,or most fortunate)!
Anyway, that's my view on things.Let's enjoy our chess and our stars here, and help out the poor.We can do both!

Fittest? Smartest? Most fortunate persons? What ur speaking about??
You make me CRY!!!
I think I have plainly understood what Crazy was pointing out. You didnt for sure.
And I can understand you.... You earn your everyday food, you dont suffer from cold, rain, etc. and you have a house and, for sure, a car.
Briefly put. you live in other planet.
With the stomach plenty of food, you can seat in front of your computer and play chess, while other people, if lucky, goes to bed after eating only a piece of bread... if they are lucky enough.
Dont make me laugh Sir. Ur understanding of the reality is way TOO poor.
Please, get out of ur shell, open up ur eyes, and look what is happening around you. It is way too easy too complaint when you go to bed while ur stomach is satisfied.
Please, dont tale offense. But Im really furious against people that says: Im not the culprit! If they are poor, it is their problem.

LittleBear: I agree that the attitude of "being poor is the fault of the poor person" is absurd, and that we should all try to do our part to help people out. However, I don't think that automatically means that an act of kindness that doesn't specifically address the issue of poverty in developing nations is not "valid" in some way.

Originally posted by LittleBearNo offense taken. But,where did I say it was their problem??It is NOT,and if I said that, then it came out wrong, and I apoligize.I never complain when I go to bed with my full stomach,I know how fortunate I am.My understanding of reality is anything but poor,I know very well what's going on in this world.I don't like it and I do my share to help out, though I admit I could do more. But can't we all,eh?

I know what Crazy was pointing out,I just don't agree.I refuse to get the blame for all that is wrong in the world. And no,I do not see what is wrong with sitting, well fed,in my house playing chess on my computer, and spending money on that. You say I make you cry,yet you have a star too and you play chess on the internet. That makes you one of the 'most fortunate people',that's what I was speaking about.Do you make yourself cry?I think not!Why should you?We are not the ones to blame(entirely). If you think we should all give up our luxuries to help out the unfortunate ones,by all means,do so.I for one will not.I am way too selfish to do so.And if everyone here is honest, they will have to admit they are too, including you my friend,'cause else we wouldn't be here. The reason I reacted to that post,is that I get pissed when people try to moralise others, while in fact, they are,at best, not much better than the rest.We are all alike.Flawed human beings! No more,no less.Let's not judge too easy, shall we?
I hope this clears it all up somewhat.
I will now crawl back into my shell๐
SirLoseALot, I believe that the part in your previous post about survival of the fittest (or smartest) is what upset LittleBear. There's nothing wrong with spending money on yourself for your own enjoyment, but people living in poor countries shouldn't be viewed as less fit or smart. In some countries you could be the incarnation of Zeus himself and still live in poverty.
CFC, if the person who bought your, and Omnislashe’s star hasn't revealed himself to you then I'm guessing he would like the remain anonymous. The best thing you could do is show this person's kindness to other people when you are able.

I'd like to think that my whining also helped - but alas, good work Bill...
