I made a good soup today.

Navy beans, carrots, celery, chicken stock and milk. Not very exciting but it tasts good.

Any good soup recipes?

Just don't do what my father in law did.

Great chicken soup recipe until I found an entire chicken leg bone on my spoon.

I used to work with chickens on a farm, I damn near threw up.

He says the bones add flavor.

I threw a left, right and a left hook. We don't talk now.

Yes, the bones are supposed to add flavor but I just can't bring myself to put a bone in my soup.

It sounds horrible just thinking about it, all I think about is drinking bone marrow!

Ugh!

😞

Why not just start a thread that says, " Hey Arby post here!!!" 😉

Are you sure about that?

I thought he was from a warm state? I could be wrong though.

Soup is the best thing ever! Had a spicy yam soup on Friday evening--delicious!

Speaking of chicken soup, ever had Vietnamese chicken soup (pho)? Great stuff (if you're a meat eater, which I'm not).

you're not supposed to eat the bones, but make the stock out of them.

I've been thinking of trying make it, but haven't got around to yet. haven't eaten it before.

I'm looking for a good vegetarian recipe.

To make the real stuff, I'd just heat up some chicken broth, season it with a little Chinese 5-spice, throw in some vermicelli noodles, some pieces of rotisserie chicken, scallions, a couple mint leaves, twist of lime and bean sprouts...maybe a slice of jalapeno.

The beef version is tasty too, where they give you thin slices of raw beef (instead of cooked rotisserie chicken) and you cook them in the broth like fondue.

I'd recommend a newly discovered one:

Fry chopped garlic, onion and gingseng, then add some boiled and
shredded chicken breast. After a while add tomato juice, coconut milk,
and lemon grass. Salt and pepper to taste.

Enjoy! 🙂

P.S. Forgot to mention chili would be nice, too. Particularly a mild one
chopped and fried together with the garlic, onion and ginger.

Try frying off some onion, chilli and Garam Marsala before adding vegetable stock and making pumpkin soup. Stir in a cup of coconut cream when cooked and garnish with fresh corriander.
