I have a friend who owns a pub in Hatfield, Pretoria. If we can get anough people together he won't mind having a private party just for us. The question is whether the Joburg people would be willing to travel to Pta, get pi**ed, and be able to make home again the next day.
I have no fear of Blue Bull country - there are many places for me to crash there... As long as I don't have to hear any Stoffmyer songs

It has been decided that the meet up would take the form of a chess theme party, and the last 6 persons to pm me will have to dress up like Queens.
Please PM me with your preffered location and date. (that is if you don't want to wear a dress and a chastity belt)
It would have to be next year, I think... maybe early December this year?
How about it?

Early December and End January/beginning February.
Any more takers?

Originally posted by LucardoYou're never going to get agreement. Just name a date early in December before the country closes, choose a logical place and set it at that. Perhaps two venues would be better - one in CT and the other in Gauties. Same date and we can send crappy digital camera pics to each other - perhaps have a group game by SMS, which could be cool. Kapies vs Gauties. And then rinse and repeat for early Feb.

I'm on the wagon this season so distance is not a difference to me. But the Blue Goose in Beyers Naude Drive, opposite Cresta has nice outside tables and there's a bunch of eastern Europeans who play there Saturday afternoons. Coffee drinkers all of them, but chess is not strange to the establishment. Logically, somewhere around Midrand/Kyalami would be middle distance.

How about Saturday the 16th December 2006?
