I think someone added that to make people feel smarter when they can read it. Of the 4 or 5 times this was posted everyone was able to read it, and the original text said as much.

I remember getting the same email from several people about the song taps.
It said they could only find a bugle at the base to play it. The song is harmonic tones and is obviosly written for a bugle. (My summation)
It went on about a dead CSA soldier and a Union Gen. who was the father of the CSA soldier...etc etc. Each time I got the email, there was something new, including the, "I looked this up on snopes, so it's real," line.
I just kept thinking, it had to be written for a bugle. Snopes later confirmed it was all a bunch of crap.
But I enjoyed the misspelled post. It sent my proof reader into a tizzy.
