A few years ago I built myself a nice huge desk.
All my friends/associates liked it; except, they all made fun of me because the desktop sat at about 47 inches high (119.38cm).
They said, "Hahaha, you screwed up in your measurements didn't you."
I replied that I liked working while standing (I am a bit hyper and find that I can think better standing up). I also explained that I spent many of my "formative" working years in server rooms working on racks (standing up).
Well, all this time I thought I was the only person that liked having a desk that you stood to work at. (Except perhaps architects/draftsmen)
Until this past week I did a little searching on line while looking for a new chair. Yes I like to stand; but, sometimes I do need to sit. I found a whole subculture of people that use/like stand-up desks. I now find I am in an elite group including but not limited to: Sir Winston Churchill, Ernest Hemingway, John Dos Passos, Virginia Woolf, Thomas Jefferson and Donald Rumsfeld.
So, it made me ponder; Anybody else out there use a stand-up desk?
