Clockwork Orange gets my vote.
Did you see Stephen King's version of The Shining? Gloriously pitiful. Do not question Kubrick.
I know i should but I've heard it's very uncomfortable viewing & hasn't aged well compared to some of his other stuff.
I haven't seen the other version of The Shining either. That was uncomfortable viewing as well I guess - remarkable how Kubrick made such a huge hotel seem so claustrophobic.
Originally posted by MimorThanks for the topic; I hadn't seen anything about the movie until now. I'll go see it for sure and as for my favorite Kubrick movie; A Clockwork Orange. I've seen it many times and will probably see it many more. It's kind of like Naked Lunch, I've seen it quite a few times, yet each time I notice something different or maybe a scene that I didn't quite get begins to make sense.
New movie that seems to be (sort of) about Kubrick...looks interesting.

Originally posted by stockenStephen King wrote the book but apparently was very unhappy with the movie version made by Kubrick. About 3 or 4 years ago, another version was made which was much truer to the book. I think it was made for TV or went straight to dvd or something. It never made much impact and although I never saw it, I heard it was pretty poorly done.
I'm confused. Isn't Stephen King the writer of 'The Shining' on which
the one movie is based? 😕
