Yeah, ratings aren't everything, but still, I'll get a warm feeling in my tummy if (sorry, when) I get into the 1300's.

*sigh*

I just don't like it if I start playing someone rated lower than me, and it turns out the player is actually a much better player.
If it's someone who just started playing and he's a 1200 but he's actually a GM and he beats me it won't really bother me.
Also, if I play someone rated much higher than me, I know I'm the underdog and if I lose, the rating points I lose reflects this fact.

Maybe a possible solution would be to put every players highest rating in his/her profile?

but then you might have people that claim to be 2000+ rated players, but are infact people out to confuse/irritate people?
Their true strength will be revealed soon enough. It's either this or stick to the 1200 startout rating. Both have their drawbacks😕

ps: or has someone a better idea?🙄

Don't see how that works with newcomers......
Unless you let them state a rating they have somewhere else, but then you have the false statement problem again😕

Well if he hasn't had any rating changes then he doesn't have a highest rating - or his highest rating will just be his current 1200 rating.
If a new player lost his/her first game(s) then his/her highest rating will be 1200.

Another example of something like that is a player like Symslov Cham. I don't know the guy and accepted one of his open invites while he was under 1200. Now he's something like 1500 (while our game's in progress). I hate it when that happens.
Haha, that happened to me too, I took a look at his clan and saw a 3-digit rated player...let's get some points! A few days later he was 1650...😕 Lucky for me he is playing 200 games, so he made a few mistakes😀

200? Hell....
BTW, you know that if you (1500+) player beats a 3 digit rated player you're not really gonna get any points.

That's true, but I went for the clan points!😀

Here are some interesting ones...It took me 22 games to get to 1300...and 20 additional games to get to 1400. I've been oscillating in the 1300-1430 range ever since.

Anyone notice any patterns of that nature?

Nothing like that...the higher you get, the more games you have to win....I have to win 10 times to even my points when I lose 1 time😕
