Anyone know anything about steroids? Anabolic or what kind I'm not sure.
It's just I was chatting to someone who said he'd heard a news report on the radio about these things in which a doctor listed the possible side effects, about ten of them.
And I asked if one was acne on the body, and he said indeed it was.
Because up at the gym I go to, there are these huge ridiculous body builders with really out-of-proportion silly muscles. And I remember having noticed that most of those fellows have bloody awful skin on their backs.
And then I heard a few of types discussing something, I didn't hear what, which was illegal in Europe and therefore in Ireland, but legal in the United States... very hush hush.
What's the dealy? Are these things all illegal, or is there some legal stuff? And what does the bloody stuff do to a fellow? And what the hell is wrong with these people a) to want to look that way; and b) possibly to break the law and to sacrifice their health for that stupid goal?

I wonder if you are thinking of HGH (Human Growth Hormone) that is NOT legal in the US, but the only way to test for it now is with blood samples... and most player unions here in the US will not let these guys be stabbed with a needle to check.
They say there will be a test available in 2 years or so, but by then there will be something new these guys use.
Turns out there are many ways to design these new drugs, and they are 'legal' because no one knows what to test for. By the time they finally figure it out, outlaw and test there is a new drug on the market.
You see, there is more money in making these drugs than there is money in making tests to find these drugs... so the makers will alwasy have an advantage.
I guess a lot of other things come of these drugs, like enlarged hearts, tumors, and muscle damage... but the money you can make is worth the risk to some idiots who think they can beat the odds.

Don't know if this is on topic, but i had a mate that did steroids, he's a bouncer, and we used to do martial arts together.
He got an argument with his girlfriend and thai elbowed some teashop windows with the rage. . .i had to hold the blood in till the ambulance came, and they wouldn't approach him till he started passin out. 48 stiches on the forearm. . .
Steriods are bad dude.
The fact is regular misuse of anabolic steroids carries many serious health risks, and can stop your body from growing properly. Genitally speaking, one such risk in men is testicle shrinkage and reduced sperm rate. Smaller testicles, makes that bulge in your trousers look a whole lot tinier. There's no evidence to suggest it makes your penis smaller, but erection problems are an issue.
Misusing anabolic steroids may not leave you with a shrunken sausage, but it certainly won't do your pants package any favours.

I know many sports ban these substances. These fellows would actually be doing those really interesting contests- as I've seen them striking set poses in the mirror. Hee hee. Will be careful not to let them hear me mocking them, though. Don't want to find out about that rage thing.
Although, I could just run 50 metres, and point and laugh as they waddle after me...

Many of these drugs a cop would bust you for having in your possession, but sports just has not learned how to test to see if a human is using them. I think sports in the US needs to work with the police and check for their players buying the drugs rather than trying to make a test. Problem is, privacy. The players would feel they are being watched.
As for running... yes, these guys can't get far holding their invisible luggage.

It got to the point one day when he got mad at me and I asked "Are you going to get tough and beat up ALL 140 pounds of me now?"
He realized he was being an idiot I guess, cuz I'm still alive. But I'm pretty sure he was rage'd up.

My asthma medicine had steriods. It was a daily dose thing (in addition to the inhaler). Guys might like to bulk up, but looking like a balloon isn't really my thing, so I stopped taking them. I'd've been pretty scary had I decided to keep taking them and lift weights or some dumb thing!

Many people in sports use the steroids to heal quicker rather than to bulk up.
Another thing about HGH is your skull with change shape, and you might get gaps in your teeth. Your jaw will grow, but you still only have your 28 or 32 teeth to fill the gap. You might see a track and field star with braces, or some really jacked up teeth.

Many people who do this and are not in a sport are wanting to make a big break in film, or own their own gym someday I would guess.
In US sports, there is big money to play and these drugs will give you an edge. Arnold has admited to doing steroids when he was in competition.
There are many reasons to 'want' to do these drugs... all of them are bad... but the real idiots are the guy at your gym who does them to get big and has no plan to make a few million before the drugs cause all the health problems 20 or so years down the line.
