10 years ago (on the 5th of October 2011), Steve Jobs died.
To many he is a visionary consumer electronics guru who created the future of modern popular computing, but to others he was a selfish bully who climbed on the shoulders of the real creators and achieved success through manipulation and ruthlessness.
I find him to be a fascinating study in both perspectives, a man who was driven by a vision for a sublime consumer experience delivered by beautiful design and a cutting edge user interface.
His return to and rescue of Apple (from 1997) who were 90 days from insolvency a decade after they fired him, is without doubt the most astonishing turnaround in the corporate world.
I would liked to have met him.
@the-gravedigger saidIf you or I were the first to develop that in a computer graphical interface, we would probably do the same.
Certainly a ruthless character.
He tried to patent an oblong shape with rounded corners.
