Nope. I've just tried that and it doesn't work. I've tried dragging and cutting and pasting both the URL and the page and nothing. Also tried select all on the page then paste shortcut onto my desktop and it asked me if i was sure if i wanted to put this active component on my desktop and i clicked yes. OOOPS> then it said do you want to MOBSYNC or summat so i clicked YES. Now i have GOOGLE home page sort of mixed up with my desktop. What on earth is happening.???????????????? Heeeeeeeeeeeeeellpppppp!!!!!!
EDIT. It's not just an image either. All the scripts and links work so i can now do a GOOGLE searh from my desktop. HOW STRANGE> I think i will keep it like this. I like it.
EDIT: Aha. It's the active desktop. Always wondered what an active desktop is. Now i know.

You don't want to use the google desktop search. It stores the information and other people can get it.
EDIT: is this what you mean?
"Google Desktop Search may collect certain non-personally identifiable information that resides on your computer, including, without limitation, the number of searches done on your computer and the time it takes to see results on your computer."
