for the second time, a player has put up the holiday symbol, then made his moves as per usual. whats the point of putting it up if you dont intend missing a move? or why go on holiday, then worry about playing your moves (an equally strange thing)?

It isn't "Vacation Time", which is what the site ought to use.

err isnt it christmas soon soon i guess i lot of people will be err on holiday but still find time to make a move. Simple answer is make sure you take a game on that got enough days to allow for holidays or at leat a godd size timebank if not get over it you can always get your rating back if your at that standard

I know it can be irritating sometimes but players often use the vacation sign to indicate to other that they will not be moving as frequently as they usually do. Sometimes players go on vacation but are not sure about accessing RHP while they are away (eg availability via internet cafes)... so they put the vacation sign up 'just in case'. I can't see much sense in it myself, but it's understandable.

Pretty much Ignore vacation signs. Just don't care I guess. If it is that important they can send me a message. I have played several games where my opponents vacation flag was up.

If they are leaving town they should not take or offer games of less than seven days with time bank.

Silly advice, really. Games can last months - even on 3/7.
