Someone told me it's a Japanese game, but no one here knows anything about it. They can translate part of it i.e. suu = number, but where the douukuu (?) come from, and what it means, no one knows. Can anyone shed any light on the origin of the game?

The Kanji (characters) mean "number place game" but it isn't pronounced "Su Do Ku" here.

At first I thought that Su DoKu was invented in Africa, only to be stolen by the white man... but I just found out that it was actually invented by Al Gore.

Its quite a recent jap invention some time in the '70s i think it means numbers singly, it has become massive in the uk its in all the papers. I think crosswords are better personaly, although paul merton talking about it on "just a minute" was very funny (its a radio program)

I dunno about its origins, but I've been wasting FAR too much of my time on this little amusement recently 🙂
