Yesterday,I lost yet another friend.Actually,it was more a friend of a friend, but still. This is the third friend I've lost through suicide.
I don't get it.What makes people do such a drastic, unnatural thing?I mean,he wasn't depressed or anything. At least, not so that anyone noticed. No,he was a real fun guy to hang around with, always making jokes. He was a teacher, and happy with his job.He enjoyed riding his motorcycles, and found a great hobby in making his own surfboards. He was very proud on that. And with reason,he made darn good surfboards!
But then, one day,he puts a gun to his head and pulls the trigger.....just like that.....gone....
I don't get it.So stupid! ππ:'(π

It is so difficult to lose people by suicide. Those left behind are left with a swirling morass of anger, grief, confusion and inadequacy.
If no one has told you: You are not responsible. It is not your fault.
You could not have stopped it.
Unfortunately, many people who commit suicide keep secret the pain and loneliness within while showing a happy, normal face to the world which increases their isolation and pain.
I often wonder if the ones who do this would still make that choice if they knew that committing suicide gives a kind of "permission" to their families and friends to make the same choice?
Again, I am deeply sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I wish you peace.
I know where you are coming from SirLoseALot. I've lost two friends to suicide.. One early in life (17), and another much later (40ish).. unfortunately, both cases were because of depression from a tough life, which I felt was them taking the easy way out.. the people they left behind are the ones now suffering.. (wife/kids etc for the 40ish person)
