Your point is absolutely correct. But there is a saying in politics, never let a good crisis go to waste.

Since we in the US are currently going through a debate about whether we want socialised health care or not, its a perfect opportunity to pump up the volume on H1N1 flu. The government cares.. we are looking out for you. Only the government can help you etc etc. It makes for good press in the main stream media.

The number of deaths attributed to swine flu is currently 1000, and yes thats tragic, especially when it affects the young.

Still the point can be made that more people, including children will die on the hiways of the US due to people being under the influence of some substance. Or that more will die because people who are so self important they must talkon their cell phones/text while driving.

just food for thought.

"Attributed" is a super word, when it comes to H1N1.

Most of the people who have died of it, which hasn't been proven, but to which it has been 'attributed', were in fact dying anyway. Lukemia, Kidney Failure, Pancreatitis...... the list goes on.....

One of my carpool friends was told by her physician that if she was pregnant while she had the swine flu, she not only would be at a high risk of miscarriage but also at a high risk of death. Apparently the two high-risk groups for death are children and pregnant women. She was also told strongly to try to avoid becoming pregnant for the next few months to avoid risk of birth defects, etc.

Swine flu is not as tame as ordinary flu.

Next, all kids with a cough can't go to school.

Next, IDIOT LADY brings her kid to where my 4yo and 1yo kids get sat.

Next day the boy, 4 has a 103 fever.

Day after that the the girl gets it.

Here they test and say it's Flu A, and that MIGHT be swine.

The only way to know for sure it's swine flu is if ...[text shortened]... are not in school and more often than not stay in with me while the wife runs errands.

You would have gotten it sooner or later anyway.

Stop your whining and buck it up!

So you're telling me that EVERYONE will eventually have the flu, and it has nothing to do with an inconsiderate mother who brought her child to daycare with my two children since school is keeping kids out to lower the spread of this flu?

WELL, IS THAT WHAT YOUR SAYING?

IS IT?

No it is not. It is tamer.

The 'ordinary flu' kills just 2 million people a year. Let's not worry about ordinary stuff, shall we? 😉

Don’t cry for me

Twelve year old girl
Two town over
Thought she felt better then she keeled over

I feel better now, but that could change
That could change

And if I do

There’s a one in fifty chance

I never said I had The Black Death
What’s wrong with you?

All I said was

The swine flu is generally milder but it is more contagious and when complications develop, it happens faster and more severely than regular flu.

The flu came back hard last night, nose clogged and lungs filled. PM me if you want to hear the AWFUL things about what happened next. I cleared my head and lung and it was NOT pretty.

Feel better again today, feared I might die last night.

Thanx about the song, I could improve on the song now... but not the cough.
