Don't do it. "Said" is nearly invisible and doesn't get in the way of dialogue. "Erupted" and "bug-eyedly" draw attention to themselves,away from what is said. Leave them out unless you mean exactly them; in ninety-nine out of a hundred cases, you are better off sticking with just "said" or bare quotation marks.

I think a lot of these are not really close synonyms of "said," because of the additional qualities connoted.
