Talking To Yourself

General

How many people will admit they talk to themselves?

I only do it when I want some expert advice! 😉

I tell myself jokes. But I only laugh if I haven't heard them before.

I sometimes will talk to myself when playing chess, some things just can't be repeated though! 😉

I asked myself and said no, never do that.

I do it all of the time.
It gets worse as I get older and more bitter and angry.
I catch myself doing it outside and tell myself to shut up because I'm sure I look like a fool doing it.

Hey, People will stay away from you if you go around talking to yourself in public, I was talking about talking to myself in private like in front of the monitor for example. 🙂

In class we learned that talking to yourself in your head is called "self talk" and it's normal and healthy.

The original post is referring to talking to yourself outloud.

@Very-Rusty

You should have been more specific.

Talking to yourself in your head = Normal
Talking to yourself in private = reasonably normal.
Talking to yourself outloud and in public = Future psychopath.

Talking to yourself in private is not reasonably normal. It is the beginning of the apocalypse.

Sometimes, when I want to rehearse and record something that will sound spontaneous for the radio where I don't want to write it down/read it.

"Are you talking to me?"

I think "talking" to yourself is OK but I think asking yourself a question and then answering it, might mean there is an "issue" that might some looking into. Oh, and singing in the car is absolutely OK in spite of what some passengers might say.
