M. Glazer is currently trying to purchase Manchester United. He already owns Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Anybody know anything about what effect he has had on the team as a whole, business side as well as on the field. The word over here is that he is an asset stripper, will raise ticket prices (TB have the highest prices in the NFL? correct?), will put Manchester United into debt for the first time ever and will have little or no money to invest in new players?
Can anybody shed any light as to his behaviour involving the buccaneers? He blackmailed the city council into providing tax payers money to build a new stadium, didn't he?
Cheers,
D
Originally posted by RagnorakUnder Glazer's ownership, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers went from laughing stock to Superbowl champions. He got them a new stadium and there are around 30,000 people on the waiting list for season tickets. I'm not sure if and how he blackmailed counsil but I guess it could be true. His behaviour regarding the team is purely business. He does not get involved in the acquisition of players. He turned down an offer to move the team to Los Angeles. And he's got a really weird beard. That's all I know...

Originally posted by RagnorakI believe he works for Pres. Bush and wants to purchase Manchester United under the pretense of improving the team, but in reality he is looking for WMD. This is another blatant attempt by the Americans at hegemony! After Manchester United, he will attempt to buy the Cairo Crushers, Tripoli Randy Camels, Kabul Three-legged Kangeroos, and last but not least, the Baghdad Bus Bombers...all in an attempt to include them in the NFL and solve the dilemma of WMD at the same time...🙄
