Why is "your friend" going to spend $1000 on a telescope when he can spend $5 on a magnifying glass and get the same effect?
Care to elaborate?

I'll try..
Next on the list is a microscope so I can find your cranium.

a, "Next" = Wishful thinking
b, "on the list" = and the daydreams pile up
c, "a microscope" = told ya am not that dumb
d, "so I" = He admits, its him = not a friend = proves my first translation to be correct!
e, "cranium" = thats what he calls it when his balls cram with spermium.

😉
I was asking PBE6 about the telescope. Maybe i'll use it to see how far Peachy's head is stuck up his ass

With all that electronic crapola? You sure? I think $300 is for a good manual one.

Manual one. The electronic crappola stuff takes the fun out reading star charts and finding the planets on your own.

a telescope to watch constellation is waste of money.
get a 20X80 binocular.

i have a MK127.
works fine for planets in bad light conditions.

it depends on where you live.

the best are the newtonians.

ps. also because stars are so far that you can't tell the difference, with a telescope............................................

Don't forget the used market. You can get some great deals there. Maybe Ebay.

It's funnier if I don't, but if you insist...

I was insinuating that your friend had a penis so small he had to use a telescope to see it. But he could save some money by buying a magnifying glass to see his penis with.

Elaborated.

This is an option. I also have a 20X80 with solar filters. Its great for spotting sunspots. I saw one already, mostly not there on this part of the solar cycle, minimum. I looked on Ebay and its mostly junk outside of one 10" Meade with motor drive that was originally 3 grand but the latest bid is 900 bucks, which will probably go up, but still thats a good scope, very short barrel, portable. Great buy if it doesn't go much over a kilobuck.

Yes, used can be good, although you have to be a bit careful. I am not sure I would recommend ebay unless you know very well what you are doing. I found my telescope at an astronomy forum. The guy who sold it was an active participant in the forum, and he was clearly an astronomy enthusiast and not some dealer who didn't have a clue what he were selling.
