Reading the terms of service I note there is statement to the effect that you must be of legal age to make a contract. How old is that in USA? Anyone on the site who is under age is in breach of the terms of service..possibly many players!
Why not permit multiple accounts from one location? If boy X is a member, why not girl Y who uses the same computer? Should be possible to stop people using the same computer from playing each other.
Originally posted by jayaitchInteresting point. I play from home and at work - some of my colleagues play at work too and that counts as the same IP - is this a breach of TOS?

Originally posted by jayaitchThe legal age to enter a binding contract in most states is eighteen (subject to certain statutory exceptions and extensions). Whether someone who is under 18 has breached the TOS by joining the site is debateable. At any rate, it would be up to the Site Admins to decide what to do about users under 18.

There is no rule that I know of banning multiple accounts from the same computer or location.
Originally posted by no1marauderI agree it would be unfortunate if under 18's were barred. Suppose the only consequence is that Rus couldn't enforce a contract but hard to se how or wh h shoul want to do it. Couldn;'t the wording be left out.

How do you decide if a player is using multiple accounts? The best way to identify is by notng those who use the same computer, or am I missing something?

The second thing you've mentioned is not a rule. It's just used to help prove multiple account violation. But other evidence is required. My dad and I both play from the same computer and haven't been kicked off.

Originally posted by jayaitchMy wife and I both play on this site., and we have not been booted. The do further research I'm pretty sure.. Some are obvious.. like the guy that plays himself 20 times always resigning on the first move (I wonder if they ever find out that those games are unrated.. lol)..
Fair enough...but open to abuse. I'll pretend I have six brothers
Originally posted by MIODudeThere is a US law regarding the collection of information by internet sites from those under 13 that imposes quite onerous restrictions on internet providers. I forget the name of it off-hand, but it was widely discussed in the forums when the Site Admins made the reluctant decision to bar children under 13 from the site last year.
