Mental problems can be transient and aren't necessarily genetic.
Its also not as much fun to laugh at crazy people who manage to remove their genes from the gene pool through craziness as it is to laugh at stupid people who manage to remove their genes from the gene pool through stupidity.
That point is more valid. It's also less PC to laugh about people with mental problems.
