There is a place in south Dublin, a satelite town, called Tallaght. The name is derived from "támh leacht", which means " a plague burial ground" 😛

Yes, I'm sure it does. I live in an area in which many places take their name from places in Scotland. The area around here was settled by the Scots in the 18th century. There's also lots of English names too.

There are a lot of places in Newfoundland with unusual names, such as "Heart's Content" and "Come By Chance" but my favourite is still "Dildo."
