The anxiety of buying a house in England

General

It's so much more straight forward in Scotland.
We've just had our offer accepted on a house. For the third time we start the long journey of fees, anxiety and stress wondering if the sale will end with contracts signed or not.
Anyone else had this with the housing in England?

Hartlepool is apparently the cheapest place to buy in England. I'm south of you in Suffolk

is it a busy marketplace? round here they tend to be slow to sell unless its a bungalow and they are flying.

I don't really know, maybe it is. All the houses we've been to have had lot of other viewings booked. The one we've had accepted this time we're paying £5k over asking, but the agent said they were expecting £10 over asking. I find that really backwards! Why not say what you're hoping for. Apparently it was on advice to get more viewings.
The two we were buying before are both sold completed. We've been at this for a year now.

Was he stressed? I feel like I've had enough stress with this!

oh yes they were both fed up they lost the first house because their buyer dropped out, the one they ended up with the owners were dragging their heels about a moving date dragging it out while they waited for their new build to be ready, obviouly michael was getting hassled by his buyers to move out.they lost a lot in survey fees and estate agency costs.

Thank you.
I'm sure things could be better organised with how it all works, but not for me to change things.

Buying/ selling a house in England is a swine. A few years ago the system was supposed to be revamped. But all they did was make you get a daft energy efficiency certificate which everyone ignores.
