They were the only band that genuinely worried the Beatles.

I beg to differ darv.Linc came out with "Rumble"in 1957,and he had been around a long time before that.

Edit: for modern day surf music check out
Southern Culture on the Skids
"Skullbucket" is the best surf song.

Don't tell me about SCOTS, I knew Dirt Track Date well before King of the Hill was ever on the air. And Man or Astro-man? are FAR more superior when it comes to surf revival.

But regardless, I was talking about the Beach Boys evolving past their surf stage.

'Darlin' 'aren't you glad' you are not 'the little old lady from Pasadena',

'I get around' with 'good vibrations' from a 'long tall texan' 'in my room'

'Wouldn't it be nice' to 'do it again' with 'California girls' in 'Hawaii',

'God only knows' i'm 'the wanderer' but I have 'fun fun fun'

'Johnny B Goode'

The Wander was Dion and I'd giggle if there were a couple of Jan & Deans in there. No fan mail from me ..

The best thing The BBs did was go country in the 80's I think they even did a space cowboy type song I think?? but I did quite like their cover of California Dreaming and that Cocomo comeback song.

Chuck was the True King of Rock and Roll... did you know Elvis only 3per cent of Elvis songs were Rock n Roll... rest were gospel or soundtrack pop or ballads.

ps dropped in for a stir.. ciao. πŸ™‚

Cause The Rolling Stones just didn't exist at all.
