The fact that I dont know the correct spelling shows how little I know about the subject.

The other evening I was working on my PC at home.Very busy, working hard, important stuff to do....Okay,okay I was playing Championship Manager 4.My wife was watching this movie and I was watching with one eye as my team sufferd yet another loss.

My wife seemed to enjoy the movie(Is enjoy the correct word when someone is making EEEEKKKKK!!! noises?Anyway she told me this movie is actually not a movie, but true happenings. For those of you who know less about this than I do here goes.

I group of friends went in search of a haunted house.(I think)They video taped everything(the movie)These students vanished without a trace. All caught on camera(the movie)

I immediately rejected the whole thing as a money making scam.I did this without having an idea of what actually happened(my team suddenly won a few games)

My wife believes this movie to be the truth.I promised to solve this dispute by asking my knowledgable colleagues at RHP to cast their vote.

Say I am right and she is wrong.I promised to print this thread and show it to her.

It's a film that's shot as if it was an amateur documentary complete with hand held shakey cameras etc.

But then again... who knows? ......

It is not true Johan, the marketing behind it was very good, and the whole concept behind it was that it was a "real" thing, hence the unknown actors and film quality.

As a film, I liked it, but you have to be in the rght mood and let yourself go where the film makers want you to, if not you will just hate it. Mind you, most people just remember either the idiot who throws the map away, or the "thud" at the end.

I think it is still the most profitable film ever made.

As the other guys have said it is just a movie, though I saw an interview with one of the guys in it and apparently the bloke that was directing it didn't tell them WHEN he would be doing some of the scenes (i.e. attacking the tent) so the reactions would be more realistic. Also for a lot of the scenes they only had a vague idea of what they would say/do.

In the beginning it was a project of students who had to make a movie ... then it was released and it had a growing number of fans (because of Internetpropaganda) and the movie really kicked of ... so a low budget movie became a big success ...
And, to answer your question:
It is not true

Let me cast my lot in with the rest to assure you that the film is absolute fiction, and nothing more than fiction.

Just consider for a moment that if such an event were to occur what the likelyhood of such key evidence showing up in the box office is versus the sherriffs office. I would likewise ask you to consider that if there were such a hellish force out in the woods what the odds are of it mentally tortureing its victims for days before it did them in would be. What we have here is good fiction with shameless promotion. 😉

What I remember is that it gave me motion sickness and a couple of times I almost had to walk out of the cinema, it was that bad.
