I used to see these, that were my favourites commedies:

- I love Lucy
- I dream of Jennie
- Witched
- Call Smart
- Alf
- Married with children
- Court by night

Any comments will be appreciated, as long as my memory is comming too weak 😳

If someone out there has any special quotation of any episode of this series, or any link to a good page about these, I'll be grateful 🙂

Of course, I think any of these series deserves its own thread! Or not? 😏

I remember the Lucille Ball Shows. I used to watch them. Lucille Ball wasn't just a very talented comedienne. She also wrote, directed and produced the shows they used to broadcast. She had, together with her husband Desi Arnez, her own company, Desilu Productions. She was (is?) a very remarkable lady. She deserves a place right after Charles Chaplin for the most talented woman ever to make comedy .....

Also, if my memry doesnt fail, Desi Arnaz was a very good musician (conductor and arranger) of caribean music...

And certainly, Lucille Ball had an "angel"... May be that the scripts of the serie (by today "cannons&quot😉 are totally outdated. But IMHO the serie was great, and stablished standards, which is a real merit.

Btw, I failed to include in the list The three Stooges! 🙂

Thanks Ivanhoe for your contribution!

Cheers!

Yes, I'm Old too, and caught most as repeats I am sure...

Some of the shows in your list are....
"Bewitched" Staring Elizabeth Montgomery?
"Get Smart" with the very sexy agent 99?
"Night Court" with Judge Harry?

Tons of stuff online if you want to check it out using Google or Yahoo.. Just do a search on each show title..

I read a big article in People about Lucy and Dezi... It was good. Dezi saw Lucy one day and said she was a tramp.. next day at lunch Lucy was dressed as a cheerleader and he was all over her...

The story is beter... but it was love at second sight for Dezi... Lucy is prety wild off screen is what I understand.

How about these shows:
Kojak
Ironside
Starsky and Hutch
Bareta
Welcome Back Carter
Good Times
WKRP
Rockford Files
Sanford and Son
The Jeffersons

I'd like to see someone put that list in order by year... I can't.

Get Smart ( the super angent 87) was really great!
So was Barbara Feldom as the "99"...
And what about Edward Platt, the "Chief"? 🙂

(Scripts writen by MEL BROOKS!!! Wow!!)

Lassie! Really great. Do you remember Bonanza? Oh my, I'm beginning to think that the old times were better... 🙂

Cheers

Hi P!

You have casted a serious doubt for me... It was "Bewitched" or (as i posted before) "I dream of Jeannie"?
Anyway, I can remember Elizabeth Montgomery, who doesn't? 🙂

Another doubt... You cite "Night Court"... As my little memory resources are going out of fuel, I'm almost sure the tittle of the show was "Court by Night"... In any case, it isn't important. Judge Harry, great! But the others actors? The tall bald police, the black woman police, the attorneys? (Wow, she was a great attorney... if you understand what I'm saying... 😲 , while he -the fiscal- was a stupid very proud of himself that always make the ridiculous... he! - great comic actor too...)

P, I know that I can search in Google/Yahoo.... But what I really appreciate is what people remembers of that shows, first hand experiences...

While your list is remarkable, and I have seen a 90% of the series/shows you mention, these are too new... (considering my initial list).

I could have mentioned Star Trek (but omitted it on purpose... 🙂 )
and other show which tittle in spanish was "Viaje al fondo del mar" (my apologies, I dont remember its original english tittle)

Disclaimer: Please, remember that my mother tongue is spanish...
In spite of it, I've seen the shows I've mentioned in its original language (that is, english).

Sorry... 😳
"Bewitched" as it was correctly posted by Phla, and "I dream from Jeannie" were two shows that has nothing to do one with the other... Oh my, where it's my pot o'hunny? :'(

Oh, you wrote "Witched" but in the US it was Bewitched. I dream of Jeannie is a great show... Barbara Eden is Jeannie...

It was also "Night Court" here in the US... I also liked the tall bailif who worked in Harry's court.

How about The Beverly Hillbillies? That was a good one.

Yup, in English the names are a bit different, but the shows are just as good... I would hope!

Edit! So what is Witched?!! re-edit Nevermind!

Here too, sorry... the culprit is my bad command of english language 🙂 (It was Bewitched!)

The list of shows I have selected has an special meaning for me. But I don't want to extend into that matter... (you can guess why too easily)

My wife has recorded *every* chapter of Call Smart... 🙂 She loved Mel Brooks. If we had to go away from home to a party, meeting, whatever, she programmed the VTR... so, I think, I have all the chapters of the serie recorded!

Nothing about Beverly Hillbillies to comment... 🙁

And it is not a case of bad translation... All the shows I've mentioned at the beginning of the thread, were series/shows that were transmited thru tv. untouched (but some of them with subtittles)

Cheers!

Michael

P.S.: may be that my command of english language is SO horrible after watching so many US shows? Or simply because I'm too ignorant? 😀😀😀😀😀

EDIT: IMHO from the initial list of shows I've posted, every one deserves his own thread. So, people, here we have a lot of material for a friendly discusion... Wake up!
🙂
And someone remember Patrick Mcnee and Diana Rigg?
Yes, they didn't appear in any serie/show that I've initially posted at the beginning of the thread... So, you can guess...

But they belong to the nostalgia corner... 🙂

At least for me.

Those were great shows, I Love Lucy and Night Court probably my two favorites of the list so far.

The Honeymooners is also one of my favorite old timers- "One of these days Alice...to the moon!" Ed Norton died just a month or two ago as I remember, he was great.

I can't think of any others at the moment, I'm sure I'll post again later.

Oh, what about the Odd Couple? FUNNY show!
