Is on Sky movies tonight.

I have the book but haven't had the chance to read it yet.

Should I just watch the film anyway?

and more to the point is it worth watching !?

If it's as predictable as the book then, no.

Watch the film. It's a good story.

Then read the book, it's even better.

The movie was okay. You'll probably enjoy it. If you watch it though, there will be no point in reading the book, which is really no big loss. It's all fiction anyway.

I found the movie to be pretty similar to the book.

If you want to read a good book, get "The Keep".

If you want to see a bad movie, get "The Keep".

It's a good "beach read". It's light, fast-paced...relatively entertaining. Just very predictable--that was my problem with it. Kind of the literary equivalent to dinner at The Olive Garden.

Da Vinci was behind 9/11 and the fake moon landings. He also made all the crop circles. He is now living in Florida, heading up the Masons. I know this because I belong to the Illuminati and I am the last surviving MAN FROM UNCLE.

The idea behind the Davinci Code is by no means original:

1) The idea was published in detail about 22 years ago - see 'The Holy Blood and the Holy Grail'

2) Listen to Paul Kantner's (Jefferson Airplane) 1972 Son of Jesus

Given that it's a pulp novel, who cares whether it's original? If Brown tells the story well, that's all that matters. If he doesn't, the book isn't worth reading.

Unless you're one of those people who consider the thing at least semi-truthful.

Eh! The book was a good fluffy read, by fluffy I mean: no thinking required.

Brown's wife is an art history buff so some of the history was quite interesting, but personally I didnt like that he passed off rumor and conspiracy as fact.

However it was a rather good thriller / chase book.

I've not watched the film, and after reading the book I doubt I will.
