Watching the TV Show Conspiracies the other week made me think to myself will the Earth ever come to an end??? I mean people have made predictions that A Nuclear War will cause the end of the world or a simple end via Human's creation an asteriod! But can you picture the day when suddenley BANG! You are dead everyone else is and so is the world....
Will The world be ever destryoed in years to come??
P.S. I've got the same feedback from my Theology Teacher and classmates! AND I DON'T WANT THE WORLD TO END!
I believe the chances are the highest for an impact. Just a boulder of a few hundred meters straingt into an ocean is enough for not only causing big tidal waves (Big, as in waves of at easily a kilometer) followed by a years lasting 'winter'. This might easily kill 99% of current life.
IF a nucleair war will end life, it will mostly be deadly for the big mammals. The world will not end. The world just got rid of at least one dumb animal.

Uhm, that's not really very uplifting, is it?.. 😕

Good.

But any life form whatsoever will not be able to experience the last few minutes on this planet. In, say a few 1.000.000.000 years when the sun gets an elderly, the sun will start to swell up, increasing radiation production, heating at least the solid rocky planets to quite a temperature of which no life will be able to overcome.

By the way, bacteria (even frozen) and sterile, that does not mix, does it?

For all you know, pieces of earth can be thrown into space as a meteor hits the ground, and then travel for millions of years before they hit a new planet's surface. Or, it could be that I build my own spacerocket? And travel to a new solar system? Where I begin cloning myself into millions of various sizes? Some of me are bacteria sized? And some are, like, giants? But they're all me? And, like, we all love each other? Cause I do? And that would be great? Kinda?
I don't know. Could also be that it all ends, I suppose. I didn't consider the sun dying. Thanks for that. Now I can't sleep. I have to come up with a way to refuel the sun so that it never burns out. With my intelligence it should take about three billion years. 🙁

Originally posted by stockenThat will take a heck of a meteorite or comet. I don't think one of that size will come along. And if it does, it will have crash against Jupiter most likely because this planet has a bigger attraction due ot its size, and it is on the oudside 'lane' while circleing the sun compared to the earth.

But don't you worry, as men are exploring the univers the next few generations, chances are some earthly bacteria will make it to other places, contanminating it. You know men, always ready to polute and not taking responsibilities when there is a buck [euro, yen] to earn or save. It is cheaper to dumb a load of waist cargo in the direction of universal infinite and everything that comes across than it is to keep it on board or on planet. Poluting, it might be part of darwinism and the theory of evolution one of these days!

Man would probably and very sensibly have decided to move planet before this occurs and at least for a while carry on going.
However matter is inherently unstable, protons eventually decay emmiting radiation which will lead to a universe in which all the containing matter will have decayed to gamma radiation.
Very hostile place in which to survive.
So we are probably bu*****d as a race but not for a while yet.
