Anybody seen this guy's '50s and '60s films? For example, Rashomon, inspiration for several films including The Usual Suspects? Or Throne of Blood, his adaptation of MacBeth, set in medieval Japan? The Hidden Fortress, inspiration for the original Star Wars? Yojimbo, basically the plot for Sergio Leone's A Fistful of Dollars, which came out a few years later? And of course, Seven Samurai, adapted into The magnificent Seven? This guy must be one of the most influential movie directors of all time, and one of the best.

I really like the scene where the Japanese guy, wearing a flower pattern shirt, and with 2 cameras around his neck, Points and says, " Horry Clap, it Godzirra."
Great movies. I think this would be the best thread in that forum by far.

The movie 'Akira' happens to be one of my favorites. I don't think it has anything to do with this guy, but it's still an excellent movie. πŸ™‚

Rashomon is one of the all time great films. It has become a required text in the curriculum for cultural literacy.
