My understanding of the story is thus:

Two young lads on the mysterious Island of London were playing Tic Tac Toe on a Commodore 64 in the ancient days of 2001.

They had heard tales of a better game, a great game, a game for champions... The Immortal Game!

Since neither of them could get a date, and neither were invited to a party that weekend they endeavored to bring YOU this game. The game of Kings.
