Depends who cooks them - overcooked I would agree. The one on the tvnz news was quoted:

"The squid was considered small and was therefore either a male or a juvenile, as females were the larger of the species."

Yes I can see why. I too wondered how she was able to stay standing while asleep. I say she has something, unseen, propping her up.
