The REAL Strangers With Candy

Comedy Central just brought back this gem, and I discovered through wikipedia that the character Jerri Blank was based on this woman, a motivational speaker in the late 60's. Parts of the show's dialogue is lifted from her book, as well as the eerie resemblance of Amy Sedaris's make-up. Florrie Fisher later vanished after returning to drugs and crime.

A mildly funny, but somewhat creepy character on the show. I had no idea that it was actually based on a real life person.

That makes it all the creepier 😲
