@torunn saidDid I say anything about worrying about it. I thought I said it wouldn't hurt you just the thoughts of there being worms in cod. Trust me when I tell you cod has far more worms in them than Haddock, I worked as a teenager for a few months during the summer in a fish plant on the line, my job s de-worming the fish wit a pair of tweezers. So I have first had knowledge of this didn't get it out of a book or from a site! 🙂
If there are worms in cod, there will be worms in any raw fresh fish. Washington Post: "...Cod worms can infect various saltwater fish, especially cod, Pacific rockfish (also called Pacific red snapper), whiting, mackerel, haddock, herring and salmon..."
I'm sure it's nothing to worry about.
To this day I will not eat Cod!!!

@very-rusty saidAnd that was a long time ago.

@torunn saidYes, but you're guessing, you do not know that for a fact, unless of course you've worked in a fish factory which I highly doubt, or perhaps know someone who has?
Yes, much.
If not everything else is just hear say if it doesn't come from someone who is actually on the line in fish plant where they have the fish under hot lights and you can see the worms moving around. When cooked they are actually suppose to be good protein so I am told! 😉

@very-rusty saidWhat I mean is that you worked in the fish industry many decades ago but you don't do it now. Things have probably changed. But I'm grateful you told me about the worms - from now on I will only eat frozen fish.

@torunn saidThey will still have worms in them only they will be frozen. Protein is suppose to be good for you.

@torunn saidif it was dangerous, we'd know about it. I am surprised to see salmon show on that list, as well as haddock
Most things are questionable to eat, I'm not worried.
@earl-of-trumps saidSalmon I already knew of, depending on where it is taken from, mackerel too. Frozen fish for me now. 🙂

@earl-of-trumps saidearl,

Don't be silly, no one said it was dangerous in fact they have protein which is suppose to be good for you. It is just the thought of them being there, get it?

@very-rusty saidFish is good for the brain
LOL....You're still getting the worms! Enjoy lots of protein in them, think about it next time you're having fish! 😉

@very-rusty saidIf this were a restaurant, I would request that management either shut you up or throw you out. People are trying to eat here.

@suzianne saidIf this were a restaurant they probably would throw you out for bothering people! 😛 😉 Lucky for both of us it isn't! 😛

Oh next time your eating fish remember the about the worms and good protein you're getting! 😉
Stay away from raw fish though, you could get deathly ill!
