@very-rusty saidI agree.
Age is just a number, and never think you can't be taught something new or about life for that matter. Just when you think you know it all is when you find out you don't 😉

@lemondrop saidWell I don't really have any friends in here.
my mother will be 94 this month
my mom, daughter, granddaughter and me
all under the same roof
four generations
and we all get along
I'm sharing a lot of personal information
but this is the tavern on the board
we're all friends to some degree
Many internet acquaintances if that counts. 🙂
Well one thing for sure much cheaper to live providing everyone is contributing.

@handyandy saidI'd say you're still pretty sharp at 87! Waste too much time bantering with me though....LOL.... 😉
I turned 87 last August. Each new day is a gift.

I have a picture, in my head, of a Saturday evening of chess at the Lemonade "stand" and it's a lovely picture to boot.

my two year old granddaughter is the only one who touches the pieces on my magnetic board
I would love to teach her the game should she ever show interest
@lemondrop saidFrom who did you learn to play? I am self taught and is obvious, by my rating, I was a lousy teacher. 😉

@great-big-stees saidYou can make yourself better if you want to study a few openings, some middle game books, also end game books. Obviously I quit that years ago but did learn a few openings and defenses which have benefited me over the years. I do enjoy looking at tactics and trying to solve some of the puzzles. Just don't do it often enough. 🙂

@great-big-stees saidYou just need to give yourself a little more time, but you have a good time and that is what matters. I am gradually going back to where I started... 🙂
