You just need to give yourself a little more time, but you have a good time and that is what matters. I am gradually going back to where I started... 🙂
We all have a choice we can study and get better at the game or we can just have fun playing the game. I prefer to just have fun playing the game personally. Once I learned a few openings and defenses. I don't know though where I have more fun playing chess or in the forums. 😉

We, here at the Tavern, take our manners very seriously and anyone caught doing anything untoward will be summarily shot, but that is written, "BOLDLY" at various spots within the Tavern, including the washrooms and on the menus.

it's full time employment for both

You 94 year old mom probably has a pension and the 2 year old will be years away from working I would assume.

I have learned more from my grandchildren and my great-granddaughter than from my own children. Consequences became more evident as I experienced children again.
I think it’s due to time and things changing plus maybe there’s the mental side of you taught your kids things and don’t want to learn from them 😂
