Get some sun, sweetie-pie. 😉
Speaking of sweet pies, chef has started tapping the Maple trees outside the Tavern and is promising some “teeth rotting” delights soon.👍🥧🥧

Great! I'm just back from a couple of hours at Ikea, a favourite place of mine. Didn't find what I had in mind, but a few other items.

Ikea have interior designs for all kinds of people and all ages. It's a good alternative especially for young people creating new homes.

Indeed, but it is an expensive place although the quality is very good.

Ikea is not expensive shopping, rather the opposite, you get much for your money. The quality is sometimes disputed because Ingvar Kamprad, the founder, wanted people to have practical, inexpensive products as an alternative to other more established business. Kamprad started very humbly in a small place in Sweden and managed to develop into a very successful businessman.

I don't live in Sweden. I live in Canada, perhaps they just soak us and let you guys have it cheaper?

Over here everyone knows Ikea is one of the more expensive places to shop.

EDIT: 8000th post.

Kamprad said something like: Anybody can make good furniture at any cost, but making good inexpensive furniture is what matters.

You want to talk to more people from Canada, especially my part which is Atlantic Canada. They will tell you it is a very expensive place but good quality. They opened a
Second outlet and had to close it and this was before the Pandemic. If you aren't from here or know people from here you don't really know what going on.

I know the pricing situation in Sweden of course, and Italy where I accompanied a friend of mine when she was still residing there. Ikea is a global business, I'm sure for a good reason.

Most of the stuff is particle board held together with screws and you assemble
Particle board doesn't hold screws well.
The prices are less, the quality is poor.

Well as it turns out not for Atlantic Canada. Check Ikea Halifax, Nova Scotia. You will see they only have the one location in Dartmouth actually. The second one they had to close because of lack of business and that was way before the Pandemic.

That would be in Ontario right?

I believe here the quality is considered to be good but high priced, from what I hear.

Now people have different ideas of what high priced is of course.

Yes, and different ideas about quality. Anyway, I love Ikea and enjoy being there admiring what their interior designers accomplish. In my new home I mix expensive and inexpensive things, it gives a solid impression. All things don't have to be top quality but some must.
