They are all unrated, and sometimes I learn a thing or two but I still make the same mistakes.

I know the feeling. Trev just beat me in 2 games 1rst one only took him 4 moves, I missed an obvious trap that most beginners would get. I think when I play him I over think things, making a bad move. He seems to have my number! 🙂 Just beat me in 2 club tournament games.

I too rejoin the fray after, not around of my usual Sunday morning round (played, by the way, on Friday morning) but my daughter finally being able to have her wedding reception, two years after the fact, due to, as seems the case in many folks plans, Covid. Now who wants what and how come torunn was MIA too?😲🤭🤔

Trev is a good player, we all make mistakes. I have decided to give reading more time, and so no competitive games for me. Chatting in GF is good too.

Excellent advice for anyone. IMO. Bobby Fischer used to say that he pretends he is playing against God.
I guess that is a sideways way of saying, "play the board".

Thanks it was a great time. After not seeing some family members for two years, in person, it was wonderful to be able to hug them. I finally got to meet my daughters mother-in-law. She is a lovely lady.

He is very particular about the lemon thing, as I am with my red wine. I have learned that a glass of red wine is recommended by the doctors for our good health.
