Come on darv.

I'm as big a Soprano's fan as anybody else, especially the little woman who is a Jersey Italian girl.

But the last season....seriously it was like they fired all the old writers and brought on writers from some day-time soaps.

Right that's it... HALT!!!

Only Series 1-5 can be mentioned from here on in!

Let's talk about the old days... Big Pussy, Richie Aprile (Manson lamps), Jackie Jnr, the Pine Barrens (best episode ever) etc...

Don't get me wrong, I also preferred the first five seasons but I don't think the sixth was THAT bad. I will admit, the season finale was extremely anti-climactic and it seems like loose ends are being tied up rather sloppily, but the writing as a whole is still as strong as ever, in my opinion. Johnny Sack's daughter's wedding was an amazing episode and one of the better from the last few years...

What stupid TV show. I am terrified by men who sing with high voices.

That was a great episode.

Christopher: "Allegra?" Ain't that a cold medicine?
Paulie: It means "happiness" in Italian.
Christopher: (pauses) What the f***'s that got to do with cold medicine?

Chris & Paulie make a great double act...
We're lead to believe that S6 is the last - if that's the case, those 2 should get their own spin-off series.

2 questions:

1) Does anyone know how many people have been killed in the entire series (any US or ROI replies need to remember that we've only just started Series 6 in the UK - so don't spoil it!)

2) Favourite/Most Effective character?
Tony's my favorite.

How difficult must it have been to give up a piece of ass like Adriana?

I used to like Ralphie until TS did him with the frying pan!

Not seen Hustle.
Ralphie was also an excellent character. The time he made that prank call to Paulie's mother was the best episode of The Sopranos IMO, or at least the best scene.

Pine Barrens (that's the one with the Russian special op guy right?) and the episode where Pussy's a fish are also some of my favorites.

A most awesome show. Best character for mine has to be big Tony himself. The trials and tribulations facing a modern Mafia Don, pressure from within his own organisation, pressure from the FBI and pressure from his own family.
Gandolfini does a most excellent job portraying this hard character on the edge of his sanity, and doing his best to keep it all together.
My favourite, the episode where he shot his cousin played by Steve Buscemi.

Sorry if my post is out of topic, but I think it is within context.

What do you think about Emma Shapplin?
"Spente le stelle"?

IMHO she has a sweet and nice/powerful voice.

But my ear is not educated for an evaluation of lyric singers.
So I humble appeal to your opinion.

Mine, is that she is a formidable singer.

If you're describing The Sopranos as mediocre - you've never seen it!

Yeah Pine Barrens was a classic!

In the woods, in the snow...
PW - "Chrissy wait.... I've lost my f@ckin' shoe!"

After speaking to TS on a poor mobile line...
CM - "What did Tony say?"
PW - "This guy used to be an interior decorator"

Honest mistake, Julia. Still, it's a great show. I'm not a fan of most TV, but The Sopranos is very well done. Check out season one (important to watch them in order) if you have a chance. You might really enjoy it. 🙂
