I am going to buy a tin of that stuff next shopping trip to use for fried rice like I had for dinner at a Japanese restaurant in Hawaii, you guessed it, many years ago. The dinner was Teriyaki chicken, fried rice with cubed Spam, and some tender long string beans sauteed in garlic, soy and sesame oil. The meal was absolutely delicious. Brings back fond memories!

For a good, alround, healthy diet and a Liverpool skint dinnner for four, the tin of SPAM should be sliced into 5mm slices and toasted under the grill until the fat juices are running out of it and it begins to brown - turn and repeat for side 2.

Finely place 2 slices of the now grilled SPAM onto eggy-bread along with a dollop of HP brown sauce on top.... smother with a knife and tuck in! Pepper may be added to add flavour to the mollasses.

Good sandwich recipe! Brioche bread (eggy bread) and some kind of steak sauce, (A1?)

Yes. Gotta treat Spam like bacon. 🙂. Good idea to defat. But so much flavor you get browning Spam by grilling or frying on its own! Load up on the vegs. for sandwiches! Thanks, Mike!

I suppose you can use any bread you like to make sandwich. Toasted bread adds more flavor! Mike's sandwich sounds like a BLT.

eggy bread - :

whisk an egg in a bowl and pour onto a flat plate, adding a little salt, pepper & soy sauce.

Heat a frying pan and place a small tea-spoon of butter or margerine until it melts on a gentle heat.

Take a slice of good thick bread and place into the egg on the plate, turning and absorbing the egg.

Up the heat on the frying pan and slide the eggy bread into the pan. Fry for about 15 secs, moving the eggy bread so it doesn't stick. Turn over the eggy bread and repeat. Down the heat, and turn until egg just starts to brown, repeat both sides...... takes about 1 minute.

A quick healthy snack.... and delicious.

That's now called 'egg-bread'. 😉

Add ketchup if you don't have the best of HP brown sauce.
