Just spent the last hour reintroducing myself to the genius that is Mike Skinner. Any other fans out there? If you don't know what I'm banging on about and you like pioneering music with lyrical brilliance over garage beats and classical instruments then my heartiest recommendation would be to go investigate 🙂

Should Christopher Parkening be included in here somewhere?
I don't know what he's done lately, but he has performed some excellent classical and spanish guitar works in the past.

Originally posted by mwmillerI know for sure that Parkening was. The Romeros major influence I believe was from their father who was a composer as well as an accomplished guitarist who died a few years ago. They moved to this country sometime around the Spanish civil war and settled in San Diego, Ca. The Children of Pepe, Angel and Phillipe are all accomplished guitarist in their own right and prepared to be the third generation of incredible musicians from this family. One of the sons haas chosen to not be a musician, but rather devote his talent to building classical guitars. Kirk
I'm a little rusty on this, but I believe Parkening and the Romero's all were students of Segovia at one time.

Feivel spoke of culture - undoubtedly so, but there's more than one culture.

Don't know any classical or Spanish guitarists, but I think the Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds live at Luther College has got some great guitar on it. Those two are pretty talented.
I got some The Streets and I thought it was pretty cool. I especially liked 'Stay Positive'... It's got some 'interesting' lyrics.
